MP CM to launch ‘Jan Vishwas Abhiyan’ for on-ground redressal of public grievances

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will launch the six-month ‘Jan Vishwas Abhiyan’ today from Chhindwara. Under this, ministers, senior bureaucrats, and district officials will spend every Friday in the field to directly interact with people, redress grievances and review implementation of government schemes.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to launch the campaign at around 12.30 p.m. The initiative comes as the BJP government in the state completes two-and-a-half years in office and enters the second half of its five-year tenure.

According to the state government, the campaign aims to strengthen direct communication between the administration and citizens, ensure time-bound disposal of complaints, obtain feedback on the implementation of government schemes and improve administrative accountability.

“The objective of the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan is to establish direct communication and connect with people by reaching the field, ensure 100 per cent disposal of complaints and problems, obtain feedback on ground realities, strengthen the administrative monitoring mechanism and build a transparent and sensitive image of the administration,” read an official statement.

Under the campaign, Fridays will be dedicated to field visits across the state, and, barring unavoidable circumstances, no official meetings will be held on those days. Senior officials from the state secretariat to district headquarters will visit villages and urban areas to hear public grievances and inspect implementation of government programmes.

District Collectors have been directed to identify the areas to be covered each week and to review pending complaints related to the ‘CM Helpline’, ‘Jan Sunwai’, and the ‘Public Service Guarantee Act’ before the visits.

The grievances and applications received during the programme would be addressed on the spot wherever possible.

The campaign will also include ‘Jan Samvad’ and ‘Udyog Samvad’ programmes for interaction with citizens and MSME and cottage industry entrepreneurs. Officials will inspect schools, anganwadi centres, health facilities, fair price shops and public infrastructure, besides reviewing implementation of welfare schemes, including Farmer ID generation, Ayushman Bharat cards, Samagra ID e-KYC and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
