MP Boparai Calls for Campaign to Protect Rights of MNREGA Beneficiaries
Fatehgarh Sahib MP Says Protecting Rights of Beneficiaries is the Best Tribute to Manmohan Singh…
Punjab : Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr. Amar Singh Boparai has urged senior officials and elected representatives from rural and urban local bodies to launch a campaign aimed at safeguarding the rights of over 94 crore beneficiaries of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) and the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Boparai described this as a fitting tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, whose leadership helped establish these landmark programs.
Boparai, who was part of the task force for MNREGA’s implementation in 2005 and later served as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India during the NFSA rollout in 2013, announced that a coordinated effort will be launched in all Assembly segments of his Lok Sabha constituency to ensure that the benefits of both Acts reach the intended recipients.
“Being involved with MNREGA and various NFSA initiatives, I firmly believe that protecting the rights of the poor and disadvantaged under these programs is the best way to honor Dr. Manmohan Singh’s visionary contributions to economic reforms and development,” Boparai said. He also expressed deep gratitude for the guidance he received from the former Prime Minister.
