MNS to support Shiv Sena (Thackeray) candidate Rutuja Latke in Andheri by-poll

Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday made it clear that his party will extend support to the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray-led Shiv Sena candidate Rutuja Latke in coming by-election for Andheri-East assembly constituency seat and appealed BJP not to field their candidate in this by-poll.

In a letter addressed to Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, he said he will not field his party’s candidate in this election and urged BJP to also do the same.
Raj Thackeray further said, “following the death of an elected representative, I have decided not to contest the election in that constituency. I believe that to do so is to pay tribute to the late representative of the people.”
Therefore, he has appealed to BJP that they should also do the same.
After Shiv Sena candidate got support from CPI, NCP and Congress for this election, everyone’s eyes were on MNS.
After BJP took a firm stand to field its candidates in this election, everyone was talking about erosion of the political culture in the state.
Now, with MNS chief clarifying his stand on this election today, it remains to be seen what will BJP do to keep alive the political culture of the state.
Raj Thackeray’s support to the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena party for the by-election has become a hot topic of discussion in the political circles of the state. (UNI)
