MLA Bhullar inaugurates 69th District-Level School Athletics Meet in Ferozepur

Ferozepur : The 69th District-Level School Athletics Meet 2025 began with great enthusiasm at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Ferozepur City, under the guidance of District Education Officer (Sec. Edu.) Munila Arora and Deputy DEO (Sec. Edu.) Dr. Satinder Singh, a National Awardee. The event was inaugurated by MLA of Ferozepur City, Ranbir Singh Bhullar, who attended as the chief guest. Hundreds of students from various schools participated in the athletics meet with high spirit.  The inauguration began with the hoisting of the district sports flag by the chief guest, who encouraged the athletes to compete with dedication and hard work. He emphasized that sports play a vital role in the physical and mental development of students and highlighted the Punjab Government’s continuous efforts under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to promote sports. The meet featured competitions in 100m, 400m, 600m, 3000m races, long jump, high jump, shot put, and javelin throw in under-14, under-17, and under-19 boys and girls categories. Speaking on the occasion, DEO Munila Arora and Deputy DEO Dr. Satinder Singh underlined the importance of sports in students’ lives, noting that a sound mind lives in a sound body. They appreciated the initiatives of the Punjab Government and the School Education Department to promote sports culture among students. The event concluded with the chief guest presenting medals and certificates to the winners. Members of the District School Tournament Committee, including Akash Kumar (DM Sports), Jaswinder Singh Mahirok (Secretary), Gurinder Singh (Asst. Secretary), Jasbir Kaur (Technical), Navinder Kumar, Jarman Jeet Singh, Baljinderpal Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Dalvir Singh, Sonu Bala, Monika Rani, Mandeep Kaur, and Amandeep Tilak Raj, were also present.
