Ministers, legislators meet Kejri over pact with Congress
New Delhi: Amid talk of seat sharing between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, a team of AAP leaders from Patiala met national convener of AAP Arvind Kejriwal and national general secretary Sandeep Pathak.
The leaders included Cabinet Ministers Chetan Singh Jauramajra and Dr Balbir Singh along with legislators Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Gurlal Ghanaur, Kulwant Singh Bazigar and Gurdev Singh Dev Mann.
In a communique issued later during the day, these leaders stated that it was conveyed to Kejriwal that the people were showing trust in the ruling regime led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as the present regime was fulfilling the promises made before the elections.
Jauramajra and Dr Balbir also informed the party convener about the achievements of their respective departments.
Kejriwal stated that all stakeholders should make people aware of policies beneficial to people by reaching every household. This way, every citizen can avail themselves of the welfare schemes.
Sources said the leaders were called to collect the ground report of the party’s position in Patiala ahead of the 2024 General Election and civic bodies and panchayat elections.
Party insiders said besides sharing poll issues, the leaders also shared local issues with the party leaders and the projects which have been hanging fire for several months.
