Chandigarh: To enhance ability to deliver rapid and high-quality care, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali on Friday announced the launch of its newly upgraded Emergency Department (ER) and brings up  to the front  slot. The expanded facility now includes more than 20 emergency beds with integrated ICU beds, ensuring critically ill patients can be stabilised immediately without delay.
The advanced emergency department has been designed to streamline patient flow, accelerate diagnosis, and provide immediate access to innovative life-support systems, all under the supervision of highly trained emergency and critical care specialists available round the clock.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dr. Deepak Bhasin senior director- pulmonology & critical care, Max said, “A robust emergency department is the backbone of critical care. With this new facility, our teams are now equipped with additional beds, advanced monitoring systems, and quicker triage capabilities. This upgrade enables us to stabilise patients faster, particularly those dealing with severe trauma, respiratory failure, or life-threatening infections.”
Highlighting the hospital’s strengthened readiness for neurological crisis, Dr. Sanjay Mishra director-neurology Max Hospital, Mohali, said, “In stroke management, time is brain and every minute can determine the quality and extent of recovery. The upgraded ER allows for faster imaging, immediate assessment and quicker initiation of treatment. This level of preparedness will greatly benefit patients arriving with acute stroke symptoms, giving them a better chance of favourable outcomes.”
While emphasising the impact on cardiac emergency response, Dr. Rakesh Sharma principal consultant-cardiology, Max said, “Heart attack patients need rapid intervention. With the enhanced ER setup, including integrated ICU beds and faster pathways for cardiac evaluation, we can initiate life-saving treatment without delay. This upgrade strengthens our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to all cardiac emergencies.”
Max hospital has also reinforced its emergency access with free ambulance services within a 25 km radius, ensuring patients in critical need can reach the hospital quickly and safely.
