Lucknow, Aug 7 (UNI) Criticising the opposition for “self-quarantining” themselves when the pandemic struck, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday said that in such tough times, many political parties and organisations left the public to their own fate and to the government instead of coming forward in solidarity.
“Today, the whole world is facing the biggest pandemic of the century. Many people became self-quarantined during this disease, imprisoned in their respective homes and did not meet anyone during this time. The public was left to their own fate and to the government” the CM said while addressing a conference of newly elected Zila Panchayat Presidents and Block Pramukhs here on Saturday.
We are all grateful to our respected Prime Minister, who not only successfully controlled Corona, but also took care of every section of society through poor welfare schemes, he added.
Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Jagat Prakash Nadda, who is on a two-day visit in Uttar Pradesh, was also present during the programme.
Praising the schemes of the Central Government, CM Yogi said that whether it has been the distribution of food grains or providing food for all,the government did everything successfully. Other funds including pension were made available in the accounts of Jan Dhan. Food grains were provided to more than 80 crore poor families. During the first and second wave, the work of distributing free food grains to all the poor was done.
Regarding the pace of vaccination in Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi said that within 9 months of the corona pandemic, the vaccine was provided to everyone free of cost. The state has administered 5.33 crore vaccines so far out of which more than 2.28 crore vaccines have been administered to people above 18 years of age.
Giving instructions to the newly elected district panchayat and area panchayat presidents, CM Yogi said that they should all work by making an action plan and create a new image of development.
He further said “the responsibility given to you is not just a position, but your further progress will also depend on it. Everyone should work with full sincerity and honesty. It is due to the hard work and effort of the workers, we have won with high numbers in the panchayat elections”.
CM Yogi said that there should be excellent coordination between Gram Pradhans, members of Zila Panchayat and Block Pramukh. All of you will have to become the pivot of the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’.
“Corona is not over yet. We have to be alert. Attention will have to be paid to the campaign of sanitization in respective areas. Work has to be done on how we can make our Panchayat an ideal Gram Panchayat. With teamwork we can get great results” asserted the CM.
Later, J P Nadda also lauded the efforts of the Uttar Pradesh government in containing the pandemic and successfully implementing the schemes of the Central Government into the State.
