Majithia Under Watch! CCTV in Jail Cell..
Ex-Punjab Minister’s BP Shoots Up in Jail, Judicial Custody Till 19th, HC Hearing Tomorrow
Punjab : minister Bikram Singh Majithia is once again at the center of political and legal attention after CCTV cameras were reportedly installed inside his prison barrack. Majithia, who was recently sent to judicial custody, showed signs of stress immediately upon entering jail, with his blood pressure rising sharply, according to jail sources. Authorities have now placed him under close surveillance, citing security and health concerns.
The senior Akali leader has been remanded to judicial custody till the 19th of this month in connection with an ongoing case. As per reports, he appeared visibly disturbed upon arrival at the jail and was promptly examined by medical staff. His BP levels were reported to be high, prompting jail officials to initiate continuous monitoring inside his cell. This includes the installation of CCTV cameras, a move that has raised both political eyebrows and privacy debates.
Majithia’s legal troubles stem from previous narcotics-related allegations, and his arrest has reignited a political storm in Punjab. His party has alleged political vendetta and termed the treatment inside jail as harassment. On the other hand, state authorities insist that all steps are being taken as per standard procedure, especially due to his high-profile status and history of sensitive legal cases.
What has further intensified the buzz around this case is the upcoming hearing in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, scheduled for tomorrow. Majithia’s legal team is expected to challenge the grounds of his judicial remand and also raise concerns over the surveillance measures taken inside the prison.
Political experts believe that the way this case is being handled could have broader implications, especially with the state’s ruling party already facing questions on law and order. With opposition parties rallying behind Majithia and questioning the government’s motives, the courtroom battle could soon turn into a political one.
While legal proceedings are still unfolding, one thing is clear — the spotlight is firmly on Bikram Singh Majithia. Whether he secures relief from the High Court or continues his stay behind bars under the watchful eye of CCTV, this case is set to dominate Punjab’s political narrative in the coming days.
