Majithia Shares Photo Claiming Punjab Minister’s Involvement
Alleged objectionable photo sparks political storm; minister Ravjot denies involvement…..
Punjab : A major political controversy has erupted in Punjab after senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia shared an allegedly objectionable photo on social media, claiming that one of the individuals in the image is a current minister in the Punjab government. Majithia hinted that a video related to the same issue would also be released soon, further escalating the matter.
The incident sent shockwaves through Punjab’s political corridors, with netizens and media demanding clarification and accountability. Majithia did not directly name the minister but claimed that the visuals clearly depict a person holding a ministerial post in the state. He questioned the moral standards of the ruling party and alleged that the government is trying to bury the truth by using its power and influence.
In response, Cabinet Minister Ravjot Singh took strong exception to the post and slammed Majithia for what he called a desperate and disgraceful act. “This is beyond the limits of cheap politics. Spreading such baseless and defamatory content just for political mileage is an attack not just on individuals but on the democratic system,” Ravjot stated during a press conference.
The Punjab government has not issued an official statement yet, but sources suggest that legal action may be taken against Majithia if the claims are proven false or defamatory. Opposition parties, meanwhile, are divided — some demanding an investigation, others accusing Majithia of attempting to divert public attention from pressing issues in the state.
This development comes at a sensitive time when the state is already grappling with law and order concerns and upcoming local elections. The episode has highlighted how personal attacks and unverified content are becoming central tools in modern political battles.
Experts and media watchdogs have warned against sensationalism and stressed the importance of verification before sharing sensitive content. The Election Commission and cybercrime authorities are also monitoring the developments closely.
The coming days will be crucial in determining whether Majithia’s claims hold merit or if this will backfire as a politically motivated stunt. Either way, this episode has opened up fresh debates on the ethical boundaries in political discourse and the growing influence of social media in shaping public perception.
