Mah: Hoax call to blow up Shivaji Terminus
Mumbai Jan 7: A hoax call threatening to blow up Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station in south Mumbai and Kurla railway station in city suburb was received on Friday sending the police into a tizzy, with searches being conducted at the station for over five hours but nothing suspicious was found.Policemen including from the Railway Protection Force and Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) carried out searches for over five hours at the railway station after the police control room received the call.
“The caller threatened to blow up the CST and Kurla railway stations using an explosive. Subsequently, police teams of different units carried out searches at every nook and corner of the two stations,” Railway Commissioner Qaiser Khalid said.
However, nothing suspicious was found during the searches, he said, adding the caller had been identified and investigation in the matter taken up.
