M. Stephen Raveendra takes Charge as new Cyberabad Police chief

Hyderabad, Aug 25 (UNI) M. Stephen Raveendra, IPS (1999) RR Inspector General of Police (IGP) West Zone, Hyderabad, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.

He took charge from VC Sajjanar, IPS., (1996 batch) on Wednesday.

Sajjanar, has been transferred and appointed as the Managing Director, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC).

While assuming the charge as Cyberabad police commissioner, Stephen said he would give his best for the smooth functioning of the Cyberabad police unit and ensure best service.

He has worked as ASP and SP in the highly maoist-affected districts of Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar (all in Telangana) and Ananthapur (Andhra Pradesh) and has rich experience in handling Left Wing Extremism, faction Crime, Communalism, Anti Narcotics and later worked as Joint Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Commissionerate.

He has also worked as DCP of East and West Zone, Hyderabad City Police and SP of CM Security Group.

He also worked five years in Greyhounds and led operations as Assault Commander, Group Commander and as Deputy Inspector General of Police and achieved considerable operational success in the states of Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Awarded Police Medal for Gallantry (2005), Prime Minister’s Life Saving Medal (2011), Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Services (2016) and Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak.
