Liam Livingstone Explains Why Moving from PBKS to RCB Is a Better Move for His Career

England all-rounder excited about fresh start with Royal Challengers Bangalore after IPL 2025 auction.

Bengaluru, Karnataka : England all-rounder Liam Livingstone is thrilled with his move from Punjab Kings (PBKS) to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2025 auction, where he was bought for Rs 8.75 crore. After being released by PBKS, Livingstone had been the subject of interest from four franchises, but it was RCB who secured him in the end.

Reflecting on his decision to join the Bangalore-based franchise, Livingstone expressed confidence that his game will thrive in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. “I think Bangalore is going to be very good for my game. It’s a bit smaller than some of the stadiums in India, certainly better than what Punjab was for me,” Livingstone told Reuters.

During his three seasons with Punjab Kings, Livingstone’s performance had fluctuated, with scores of 437, 279, and 111 runs. However, he believes RCB’s passionate fan base and the team’s strong setup will provide him with a much-needed boost. “The fan base is very passionate. It’s probably one of the biggest franchises in IPL… It’s a bit of a fresh start for me,” he added.

Livingstone also praised RCB’s strategic moves during the IPL 2025 mega auction, which saw the franchise sign top players like Jitesh Sharma, Phil Salt, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, and more.

In addition, he is excited about sharing the dressing room with cricket legends like Virat Kohli. “Playing with the likes of Virat is going to be really cool,” Livingstone said.

The England all-rounder is looking forward to the upcoming season with RCB, eager to showcase his talents in a new environment and contribute to the team’s success.
