Massive raids conducted to trace financial network of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang

Abohar, Rajasthan: The Sriganganagar district police carried out an extensive raid operation targeting the hideouts of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his close associates. The main focus of the raids was to trace the gang’s financial network, including the transfer and return of extortion money abroad via hawala channels. The operation lasted for five hours, covering locations in Sriganganagar, Bikaner, and Abohar.

SP Dr Amrita Duhan said the action aims to strengthen efforts to extradite criminals hiding abroad. During the operation, police teams equipped with dog squads, metal detectors, and drones conducted detailed searches of houses, farms, and other hideouts linked to the gang.

The raids included the participation of women constables from the Special Task Force (STF), District Special Branch, and Kalika Unit. The investigation focused on tracing properties owned by the criminals’ families before their criminal activities, as well as newly acquired or benami properties. Officials examined agricultural land documents, house renovations, and local witnesses to track the gang’s financial activities.

Significant findings included the ancestral homes of Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishn

oi in Dutaranwali village, Abohar, where documents related to 100 bighas of land, a Scorpio, tractor, trolley, and other equipment were recovered. A reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced for Anmol Bishnoi, who is reportedly in a detention centre in the United States. However, police could not access Aarjoo Bishnoi’s house as it was locked.

Other notable raids included Rohit Godara’s property in Tejana village, where 21 bighas of agricultural land, 18 bighas in Kapurisar village, a concrete house, tractor, and trolley were discovered. The Bikaner police announced a Rs 1 lakh reward for Rohit, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) offered Rs 5 lakh.

Further raids at the ancestral homes of Amit Sharma (alias Amit Pandit/Jack) and Yogesh Swami in Chak 15-Z revealed extensive properties, while in Chak 01-KLD village, Kartik Jakhar’s grandfather’s land and dhani were documented. Vishal Pachar’s ancestral home in Sriganganagar also yielded valuable property records.

SP Duhan highlighted that the gang has been threatening people for extortion via WhatsApp and social media, with funds routed abroad through hawala networks before returning to the gang’s hideouts. Investigators continue to probe the financial links to dismantle the network.
