KL Rahul faces suspension on IPL franchise ‘skipping’
New Delhi, Dec, 02,NewsonRadar Bureau: Punjab Super Kings of IPL are reported to have objected to the manner in which their incumbent Captain KL Rahul was negotiating with other franchises for the IPL Season 2022, according to sources.
It is learnt he had been approached by one of the new franchises, RP-Sanjiv Goenka group, owners of Lucknow entity, for joining them as team Captain, leaving his current sponsors. It is also rumored he has been offered a fee of Rs 20 Crore by the Lucknow franchises, making the Indian opener, the highest paid cricketer in IPL format so far.
Although Punjab Super Kings have now dropped him from the team for next season, official announcements are yet awaited.
The schedule for IPL 2022 is fixed for March 27 to May 21, 2022.
