Keylong town freezes at minus 5.7 deg C
Cold wave sweeps upper Himalayan ranges
Shimla: Minimum temperature plummeted by many degrees below normal as it was minus 5.7 degree Celsius at Keylong headquarter of Lahaul-Spiti district on Sunday, Met department said.
It said in a forecast issued here Sunday that minimum temperature slid down to 5.7 degrees and 4.7 degrees below normal. In Kinnaur district Kalpa was minus 0.8 degrees and 2.5 degree below normal. Tourist resort Kufri 1.4, Hamirpur 5.4, Shimla and Una were at seven, Solan & Sunder Nagar (Mandi) four, Hamirpur 5.4, Mandi 5.7, Chamba 5.8, Kangra 7.5 , Bilaspur & Dharamshala, 8.5, tourist resort Dalhousie 6 and Kufri five degrees.
A fresh Western Disturbance as a trough in mid tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level run roughly. Rain and Snowfall occurred in many places in high reaches.
