Keshav Maurya, 12 others take oath as member of UP Council
Lucknow: The newly elected members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, including Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, took oath in a function held at Rajshri Purushottam Das Tandon Hall inside Vidhan Bhawan on Thursday.
Chairman of the upper house Kunwar Manvendra Singh administered oath to the newly elected members in the presence of Speaker of Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana.
Along with Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Panchayati Raj Minister Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Cooperative Minister JPS Rathore, Minister of State for Industrial Development Jaswant Singh Saini, Backward Classes Welfare Minister Narendra Kashyap, Minister of State for AYUSH Daya Shankar Misha ‘Dayalu’. Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad Ansari, Mukesh Sharma and former MLA from Kannauj Banwari Lal Dohre took oath as the members of the Council.
In addition to this, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya, Shahnawaz Khan ‘Shabbu’ and former MLA Jasmir Ansari also took oath. It may be noted that all the members were elected unopposed during elections held in June. (UNI)
