Kashmiri Pandits: Govt committed to facilitate return and rehabilitation, says LG Sinha
Srinagar, Sep 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Sunday that the Centre is committed to the return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit community in the valley.
Sinha outlined the recently launched online facility whereby the aggrieved families can submit their applications to get justice with respect to their immovable properties.
“To undo the injustice of decades, we are committed to bringing back all the families who were forced to leave in despair, and restore the culture of glorious brotherhood in the valley”, he added.
The Lt Governor also informed that J&K administration is taking significant steps in providing employment opportunities to the youth.
Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Council have recently constituted the Accelerated Recruitment Committee that has been set up and instructed to fast track the pace of recruitments that suffered on account of the pandemic, he said.
“Under Mission Youth, a new program has been launched to develop 75 tourist villages and provide financial assistance of Rs 10 Lakh to the self-help groups of youth. Also, the roadmap of initiatives like ‘Back To Village, Hausla, Tejaswini, Umeed, and Saath’ were also laid out, all of which aim at creating an ecosystem of women entrepreneurs in the UT so that a system of true financial independence can be established,” Sinha added.
The Lt Governor was speaking on a radio programme broadcasted on Sunday. Sinha addressed queries and welcomed suggestions from the locals in the programme.
