Kapoorthala : Police recently apprehended a mother and son duo from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district for their involvement in an elaborate cyber fraud scheme. The accused are accused of creating a fake identity of an immigration expert and tricking people into paying large sums for fake immigration services. The cyber fraud was orchestrated with the intention of duping people who were looking to migrate abroad.

The fraudsters, identified as the mother-son pair, had been running the scam for several months. They targeted individuals who were in need of immigration assistance, particularly for countries like Canada and the United States. By creating a fake identity of an experienced immigration consultant, the duo managed to convince their victims to pay for services such as visa processing, job placement assistance, and more. However, after receiving payments, the accused would either stop responding or provide fake documents and promises, leaving the victims in distress.

The police investigation revealed that the mother-son duo had designed a sophisticated online platform with a fake website and social media profiles, which appeared to be legitimate immigration consultancy services. They used various tactics to gain the trust of potential clients, including false testimonials, attractive offers, and professional-looking documents.

The victims, who were often from various parts of India, shared their financial details and personal information with the fraudsters, believing that they would get the help they needed to move abroad. Many of these victims are now left without any hope of securing their dream of immigration.

The Kapoorthala Police were able to track down the fraudsters after an extensive investigation, during which they uncovered a number of digital footprints and victim complaints. The accused mother and son have been arrested and charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating, fraud, and cybercrime.

Police officials have urged the public to exercise caution when dealing with online immigration services. They have advised that individuals should verify the legitimacy of any consultancy firm before making financial commitments, especially in the field of immigration.
