Kangra Fort to be venue for International Yoga Day

Dharamshala: The Central University of Himachal Pradesh has got the opportunity to organize the program at one of the four prestigious places given to the Ministry of Education by the Ministry of AYUSH to organize International Yoga Day.
The Ministry of Education, Government of India has entrusted the Central University of Himachal Pradesh as the nodal agency for organizing and coordinating the PPT as per the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will preside over this event to be held at Kangra Fort on 21st June.
To make this event a success, Under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal, a meeting was organized in the premises of Dhauladhar Campus-1.
Vice Chancellor said that the Ministry of Education, Government of India has entrusted the Central University of Himachal Pradesh in the form of PPT as the nodal agency for organizing and coordinating the events as per the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
One of the prestigious institutes selected includes Kangra Fort. The program to be organized in the Kangra Fort will be presided over by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The vice chancellor said that it is a matter of pride for the university.
He said that the state branch of Art of Living is giving its support in this event. He said that the university has constituted a committee for this. Prof. Ambareesh Kumar Mahajan has been appointed as the nodal officer of the said committee.
Kangra Fort has also been visited by the committee. The program will begin on June 21 at 5.30 am and will conclude with the national anthem at 7.46 am. During this meeting, Registrar Prof. Vishal Sood, Student Dean Welfare Prof. Ambrish Mahajan, Dean Academic Prof. Pradeep Kumar and Deans, HoDs, all faculty members and non-teaching staff were present.
