Javed Akhtar Slams Pakistan Over Terror Attacks..
Questions Pakistan’s repeated denials: “Where do these terrorists come from, then..
Mumbai : Renowned poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar has once again spoken out boldly against Pakistan’s attitude towards terrorism. Reacting to the recent wave of terror attacks and Pakistan’s consistent denial of involvement, Akhtar asked a critical and direct question: “If Pakistan keeps disowning terrorists, then where do they keep coming from?”
Speaking at a public event, Akhtar expressed frustration over how Pakistan often claims it has no link to terror groups, despite most global attacks involving individuals or organizations that trace back to its soil. He emphasized that while the world is moving toward peace and dialogue, Pakistan remains evasive and defensive when it comes to terrorism.
Akhtar pointed out the pattern of denial followed by silence that Pakistan has adopted for years. He said that after every major attack, instead of accountability or investigation, Pakistani authorities resort to outright denial or blame shifting. “This is not just India’s concern anymore,” he added. “The world is watching and it’s time Pakistan answers some hard questions.”
Akhtar, who has visited Pakistan in the past for literary events and has a significant fan base there, maintained that his criticism is not against the people of Pakistan but against the system that allows radicalism to thrive. He highlighted how terrorism has not only hurt India but also damaged Pakistan internally. “No country can grow if it nurtures snakes in its backyard,” he warned.
His comments received widespread support on social media, with many praising his courage and clarity. Indian citizens hailed him for saying what needed to be said, while international voices also echoed his concerns about Pakistan’s dual approach—condemning terrorism in statements while allegedly sheltering radicals on its own turf.
Akhtar concluded by urging global bodies and neighboring countries to take a firmer stance on nations that do not actively curb terrorism. “Peace cannot be one-sided,” he said, “It has to be mutual, honest, and backed by action.
