32nd Summer Olympic Games launched without spectators at the venue, due to Covid-19 protocols.
China has sent their largest delegation of 770 while India has 120 members participating in 18 individual and team events.
A total of 11,326 athletes will be participating in 339 events in 33 sports in over a period of 19 days (July 23 to August 08)
Tokyo, Jul 23 (UNI/Sputnik) Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka lit the Olympic cauldron at the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo during the opening ceremony on Friday.
Athletes from 205 countries and the Refugee Olympic Team took part in the opening ceremony. Japanese Emperor Naruhito has declared the Games in Tokyo open.
