I’ve never paid attention to ‘Log kya kahenge’ mentality, says Kajol
I’ve never paid attention to ‘Log kya kahenge’ mentality, says Kajol. Kajol was born on August 5, 1974. She was the daughter of the famous actor Tanuja and the late director Shomu Mukherjee. Tanuja’s mom, Shobhana Samarth, was also an actress, and her dad, Kumarsen Samarth, was a director.
NEW DELHI: Kajol is not only a talented actor who can do a lot of different things, but she is also a powerful character whose ideas touch people, especially women. In a job that has gone on for more than 30 years, she has always come across as a strong person who does what she wants.
In an interview, the ‘DDLJ’ star talked about how her mother’s family helped her become a strong person.
“I have never in my life paid attention to “log kya kahenge.” I had a great mother who raised me. My mother didn’t care about society at all when she raised me. In fact, my mother’s family was very good. Everyone in my family, from my great-grandmother to my grandmother to my mother, has shown me by their actions that no one else matters, that your life is your responsibility, and that no one else’s view matters,” Kajol said.
Kajol does not believe in giving someone else the driving wheel of life.
“First of all, take charge of your life. Your deeds are your own, and society doesn’t tell you what to do. Second, at the end of the day, society has to accept what you do with your life, and that’s how my great-grandmother and grandmother lived their lives. Both of them had views on life and the world that were very different from each other. My mother hasn’t stopped living her life. I’m trying to live like they do,” she said.
Kajol was born on August 5, 1974. She was the daughter of the famous actor Tanuja and the late director Shomu Mukherjee. Tanuja’s mom, Shobhana Samarth, was also an actress, and her dad, Kumarsen Samarth, was a director.
In 2020, Kajol shared a beautiful picture on social media that told the story of her family.
The collage shows the actor, her mother Tanuja, her late maternal grandmother Shobhna Samarth, and her late aunt Nutan, all of whom had successful careers in Indian film.
“I came from the real feminists,” she said. “#strongwomen #livelearnlove,” she wrote as the post’s description.
On the work front, Suparn Varma’s web show “The Trial – Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha,” in which Kajol stars, has gotten a lot of praise for her work.
The Indian version of “The Good Wife,” which starred Julianna Margulies, is a courtroom thriller. Kajol plays the role of Noyonika Sengupta, a woman who goes back to practising law after her husband goes to jail because of a scandal.
Noyonika is driven by her fate to show herself in the competitive world of law. She also has to figure out how to deal with complicated relationships while trying to get justice for her husband.
Kajol said this about the show: “The complexity of a character is what makes it interesting to me, and the layers of Noyonika were what spoke to me when I first got this part. Noyonika felt like a real person, and I felt protective of her right away. This made me feel even better about picking “The Trial – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka” as my first long-form story. Suparn Varma has created a world where the characters’ weakness meets the harshness of life.
‘The Trial’ also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Kubbra Sait, Sheeba Chaddha, Alyy Khan, and Gaurav Pandey.
