Indian Oil officials face CBI on bribery charges

New Delhi, March 25: A General Manager, Chief Manager and Sales Officer of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) will face CBI in alleged bribery charges of Rs one lakh in each case, the agency said on Friday. The officials were identified as NP Rodge, General Manager (Retail Sales), Manish Nandle, Chief manager (Retail Sales) and Sunil Golar, Sales Officer. All were posted in Maharashtra. The first case was filed on the complaint against General Manager (Retail Sales) and Chief Manager (Retail Sales) of IOCL, Nagpur on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs one lakh by the GM to execute an agreement with the present owner and also transfer of the ownership of retail outlet from the previous owner to the present owner. The accused allegedly directed the complainant to pay the bribe amount to the Chief Manager, said CBI spokesperson. CBI laid a trap and apprehended the Chief Manager while he was allegedly accepting the bribe amount. The second case was registered on complaint against the Sales Officer on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for allowing the smooth functioning of complainant’s Petrol Pump without any delay caused by IOCL in providing the stock and also previous favours rendered to the complainant, said CBI. CBI laid a trap and apprehended the accused while he was allegedly demanding the bribe from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused in both cases. (UNI)
