Indian community celebrates the 77th Republic Day of India, in a Grand Cultural Event

Frankfurt (Germany):  Indian diaspora in Germany hosted  a gala rendezvous  on Sunday last  to  celebrate the 77th  Republic Day of India  under Bharat Verein e.V. banner. The  grand cultural and  invigorating  event held at  SAALBAU Volkshaus Enkheim, Frankfurt, brought  together the Indian community, Friends of India and distinguished Guests for an evening that truly reflected the spirit of India, reports NewsOnRadar.com, reporter stationed in Europe.  The fervour was doubly  enforced  by the recently concluded EU-India Free Trade Agreement, called  ‘Mother of  All Deals‘  by European Commision  Chief Ursula von der Leyen, in New Delhi.

The opening and introductory  address  of the evening was delivered  by senior  community leader Kamal  Vatsain,

followed by an inspiring welcome address from   Stephan Mani, and event coordination from executive committee members of Bharat Verein e.V.  

A special highlight was the beautiful musical presentation commemorating 150 years of “Vande Mataram”, presented by the Aditis School of Indian Music, setting a deeply patriotic tone for the evening.
The  distinguished speakers at the event were :
• Sanjay Jaswal, Consul  for India in Germany (Consulate General of India, Frankfurt)
• Mr. Stefan Giesler, Managing Director, Hessischer Städtetag Hessischer Städtetag                                                                      • Ms. Eileen O’Sullivan, City Councillor, City of Frankfurt, FRANKFURT.de.

 

Their speeches reflected the strong bonds of India–Germany friendship, shared democratic values, and cultural connection.  The guests and  the august audience enjoyed the  Cultural Performances depicting  Indian Arts, music and dance sequences.                                                                                                                                                      Aditi Sengupta-Smita’s Dance World. Abila Mankulam Chaitali Dutta Chowdhury Smita Chakraborty Purkayastha  ignited  the  pariotic fervour among the audience..

The stage then came alive with vibrant and diverse performances:
• Odissi & Kathak by Layam – Smita’s Dance world
• Semi-classical & Bharatanatyam by Mrs. Abila Mankulam & Mrs. Suja Vinod from the Indian Dance Academy Frankfurt.
• Energetic Bollywood performances by Layam;
A true show-stopper of the evening was the famous Ottamthullal Mask Dance, performed for the first time in Frankfurt, leaving the audience spellbound.
The evening bonhomie concluded with  Vote of Thanks by Ramesh sharma , Joint Secretary, Bharat Virein,  followed by the Indian National Anthem, uniting everyone in pride and emotion.  He expressed heartfelt thanks to all performers, guests, volunteers, and community members who made this celebration a grand success.

India’s 77th Republic Day at the  Indian Consulate  was also celebrated on 

January 26,  by Consult General of India Ms. Shuchita Kishore  at the Frankfurt office premises  by lighting a  customery lamp followed by  dinner attended by select
 guests, Indian  community leaders and  members.  In a brief address she  underlined themajor activities of the Consulate,

fecilitating the Indian community visiting Germany:  by organising Business Meets, disseminating  trade information  and cultural events etc.  

Present on the occasion were also; Ajit Rande ( MEBF and FOI Advisor) ,  Klaus Klipp ( Chairman EUF Europa Union, Frankfurt),  Kamal Vatsain (EUF Exec. Board member & FOI advisor) who mingled with the audience during the gala event on Sunday (seen in the picture alongside)..
