Colombo/New Delhi: India has transported more than 400,000 MT of fuel to Sri Lanka so far, with the latest consignment delivered in Colombo port today, the Indian High Commission said. The fuel was transported under the Indian credit line, with today’s consignment being delivered on the freighter Torm Helvig. The Indian High Commission said in a tweet: “12 shipments and more than 400,000 MT of fuel!! Latest consignment of #Diesel from #India under the credit line for fuel was delivered in #Colombo by Torm Helvig today.” India has also been shipping rice to Sri Lanka to help ease shortage of essential food commodities, as well as transporting medicines and medical supplies. India has committed more than US$3 billion to debt-ridden Sri Lanka in loans, credit lines and credit swaps since January this year. (UNI)
