India invites South Korean investments in Defence, retail sectors

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) India is looking for investments from South Korea in new sectors like Defence, retail and at strengthening the complementary strengths of the two countries in automobiles, textiles, food processing, leather products, metals, mining, chemicals as well as in traditional sectors like steel.

“We have today become an attractive and preferred destination for investments,” said Goyal, while addressing the 4th edition of the India-Korea Business Partnership Forum organized by CII-KITA.
Drawing strong complementarities between the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and the ‘New Southern Policy’ of the Korean Government, Goyal said expressed satisfaction over Korean companies making use of the competitive and comparative advantages of skilled manpower, low cost manufacturing and Government support that is offered for doing businesses in India.

Drawing attention to India’s economic recovery, Goyal highlighted the efforts to create an investment friendly climate through policy measures like AatmaNirbhar Bharat to make India self-reliant, Production Linked Incentive, a National Single Window and a National Infrastructure Pipeline with projects worth over a trillion dollars providing opportunities for infrastructure companies.
