India assumes President’s Chair at UNSC today
United Nations, NewsonRadar Bureau, Aug.01: India will be assuming the role of Presidentship of United Nations Security Council on August 01. It is just a coincidence that India is also celebrating beginning of the 75th Anniversary of its Independence on August 15. The year long celebrations will have several activities to revive the spirit of Independence and sacrifices by crores of countrymen.

India’s permanent ambassador at United Nations, Mr. T S Tirumurti sent a message to Indians : “It is a singular honour for us to be presiding over the Security Council the same month when we are celebrating our 75th Independence Day,” India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador T S Tirumurti said in a video message on the eve of India assuming the rotating Presidency of the powerful 15-nation UN body.
The month-long tenure in August is rotated amongst its Members. India will focus on burning Health/Covid, terrorism, political issues engulfing the globe during this tenure.
