IAC chief: New Congress president ‘pawn’ in chess
Pune: Newly elected national president of Congress party, Mallikarjuna Kharge is just like one of the ‘pawns’ in the game of chess who do the job of saving the king, claimed Hemant Patil, national president of India Against Corruption, on Saturday.
He has been elected as the new president to improve the image of the Congress party and prevent its downfall, he claimed further.
Since Kharge lacks organizational skills, he does not have the qualities required for party building, he said in a press release here.
Therefore, he cannot attract the countrymen to the Congress, solve people’s problems and break down the BJP, Patil said further and noted that he can speak well only in the parliament hall.
During Kharge’s presidency, the party will not benefit as much as it should, he continued and pointed out that because of his old age, he will not be able to tour much across the country.
Since he does not have much influence within the party, he will hold the office of the party president like a villager, IAC chief said.
As a result, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will take charge with a gun on Kharge’s shoulder, he claimed.
Due to rising inflation, unemployment and other problems, the countrymen are looking for a viable alternative to BJP and in this situation, the Congress party has an opportunity, he said.
Therefore, the voters will turn to the Congress as an alternative, Patil said and observed that however, due to lack of dynamic leadership, the voters will possibly turn to it to priorities’ the issues.
The IAC advised BJP to do good administrative work and avoid using the central agencies like Enforcement Directorate, CBI and National Investigation Agency in the non-BJP-ruled states to imprison people and leaders who speak against BJP. (UNI)
