HP registers 3,040 Covid infections, 40 deaths

Shimla, Apr 29 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh on Thursday recorded 3,040 coronavirus infections and 40 deaths, pushing the infection tally to 96,929 and fatality count to 1,447.
Nodal officer and Health Secretary Ambitab Awasthi said 16 Covid patients died in Kangra, eight in Shimla, three each in Mandi and Solan, two each in Chamba, Sirmaur and Bilaspur and four others from different parts of the state.
Of the fresh cases, 610 were reported in Kangra, 539 in Solan, 412 in Shimla, 307 in Mandi, 291 in Sirmaur, 215 in Bilaspur, 193 in Hamipur and 192 in Chamba, Lahaul Spiti 93 , Una and Kullu 82 and Kinnuar 24.
Active cases in the state stand at 17,835 while 1241 recovered of the contagion in past 24 hours.
