HP Election Commission announces dates for Panchayat polls in Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti

Hamirpur (HP), Aug 31 (UNI) The State Election Commission on Tuesday announced the dates for holding Panchayati raj elections in the districts of Lahaul and Spiti and Chamba which would be held in two phases on September 29 and October 1.
As per the notification, the election for the Zila Parishad seat of the Kaza subdivision in Lahaul and Spiti and the Udaipur and Keylong subdivisions will be held for all the Panchayati raj functionaries.
In respect of the Chamba district, election for the PRI’s and blocks samitis for the Pangi subdivision will also be conducted.
According to a notification of the Commission, the nomination papers for various seats would be filed from September 13 to September 15 from 11.00 A.M to 3.00 P.M.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers would be held on September 16 and the withdrawal of the papers can be done till September 18.
While the counting for the votes of PRI’s would be held on the same date of the polling, the counting for the Zila Parishad and block Samiti seats would be conducted on October 4th.
An official spokesman said that the election process would be completed in all rests by October 6.
