Himachal Police nabs owner of Printing Press; Q-paper leak case
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Police on Thursday arrested the printing press owner Shailendra Vikram Singh from Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh in the constable recruitment question paper leak case.
The owner of Printing Press was wanted by the police after question papers of the Constable recruitment exam got leaked.
Earlier in June 2022, police have already arrested Sudhir Yadav, who did the paper cutting and binding work from the printing press, he is also in custody. Now the police have taken the printing press owner into custody after getting the evidence. The SIT has filed the first charge sheet against 91 people and the second charge sheet against 61 people. 4 GB pen drive, 10 high disks, 3 memory cards of CCTV cameras and some documents have also been confiscated. Mobile phones and other electronic material seized from the printing press were taken to the forensic lab Junga for investigation. According to the police, the written examination papers related to police recruitment were published in the same press in March, which were later leaked.
The accused Shailendra Vikram Singh, is the son of Narayan Singh, resident of Sector 2 2, Vaishali, Ghaziabad (UP). The press is located at 14/14 Site 4 Sahibabad Industrial Area Gaziabad(UP) in the name of Printing Press Vishal Samadhan Pvt Ltd.
The CDR of the seized money is being analyzed. Apart from this, checking of bank accounts is also being done. The accused Shailendra was produced in the court of CJM Shimla and sent to the court’s judicial custody. The written examination was held on March 27, 2022 for the recruitment of 1334 posts of police constables. The result was declared on April 5. The paper was held in 81 examination centers in Himachal. After this, on May 6, CM Jairam Thakur canceled the examination and formed a special police investigation team (SIT) to investigate the matter. (UNI)
