Himachal High Court seeks report on encroachment

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday sought a report from state government and forest department over encroachment under under Tikkar Panchayat of Rohru Subdivision.
According to the order, demarcation of forest land in the Panchayat would be held on June 27, 2022 on the cognizance taken by the High court in the matter.
It has been stated that a letter was sent to Himachal Pradesh High Court judge seeking to take the matter of forest encroachment. Letter was also issued by Tehsildar Tikkar on June 18, 2022 about conducting of demarcation of forest lands. A complainant also filled before forest department by a local residents recently stating that thousands of Deodar trees were felled in three places. Forest department reportedly siezed timber woods from number of people as hundreds of stumps are visible. (UNI)
