Chamoli : The holy portals of Badrinath Dham, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India, have officially opened for devotees, marking the beginning of the annual Char Dham Yatra season. Within just two hours of the ceremonial opening, over 10,000 pilgrims reached the temple to offer prayers and seek blessings. The reopening was accompanied by traditional Vedic rituals and chants, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere in the sacred town nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand.

Located at an altitude of 10,279 feet, Badrinath Dham is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is considered one of the four major dhams in Hinduism. Every year, the temple remains closed during winter months due to heavy snowfall and reopens in the summer for devotees from across India and abroad. This year, the temple gates were opened with full religious fervor and ceremonial grandeur, drawing thousands of visitors within the first few hours.

The first darshan of Lord Badri Vishal was made available to devotees via live streaming and media coverage, with many turning to trusted platforms like Dainik Bhaskar for immediate visual access. The sight of the adorned deity, surrounded by fresh flowers and divine light, moved many to tears of devotion.

Authorities made extensive preparations in anticipation of the large influx of pilgrims. Security arrangements, medical facilities, sanitation, and crowd control measures were all heightened to ensure a safe and smooth darshan experience for the devotees. Roads leading to Badrinath were cleared of snow weeks in advance, and transportation services were ramped up to accommodate the pilgrimage rush.

Local businesses and residents welcomed the reopening with hope, as the pilgrimage season brings significant economic activity to the region. Hotels, eateries, and shops saw a sudden surge in activity, adding to the festive vibe in the valley.

Religious leaders have encouraged pilgrims to follow eco-friendly practices and help preserve the sanctity and natural beauty of the region. As the Char Dham Yatra continues in full swing, Badrinath Dham is once again echoing with chants of “Jai Badri Vishal,” reconnecting devotees with their faith in the lap of the Himalayas.
