Haryana CM Defends Yamuna Water Quality Amid Kejriwal’s Claims
CM Saini drinks Yamuna water to prove its purity, urges Kejriwal to apologize for “irresponsible” remarks……
Sonepat: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini condemned former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s recent remarks, calling his statement about the Yamuna water being “poisoned” politically motivated and irresponsible. Saini visited the Yamuna at Dahisara village near the Delhi-Haryana border, where he performed prayers and drank water from the river to demonstrate its purity. Responding to Kejriwal’s claims that Haryana was sending “poisoned” water, Saini assured that samples taken by the Water Authority of India showed no toxic substances in the water at the Haryana border. He accused Kejriwal of spreading fear for political gains, citing the cleanliness of the water before it enters Delhi.
In a direct challenge to Kejriwal, Saini pointed out that the reports from the Pollution Control Board indicated that the water quality was clean when it left Haryana, but deteriorates after it enters Delhi. He also raised concerns over the allocation of Rs 8,500 crore by the Centre to the Delhi Government for water purification and sewage treatment, questioning where the funds were spent.
In response, Arvind Kejriwal accused CM Saini of pretending to drink the Yamuna water and spitting it back into the river. He reiterated his concerns about the water’s ammonia contamination and vowed to protect Delhiites from what he called “poisonous water.” The ongoing spat between the two leaders highlights the political tension surrounding the issue of water quality and pollution in the Yamuna River.
