Gurugram Teacher Arrested for Assaulting Minor Student

Gurugram: A shocking case of child exploitation has surfaced in Gurugram, where a female schoolteacher has been arrested for allegedly establishing a physical relationship with a minor student from Rewari. The student, a teenager, was reportedly taken by the teacher to various locations including her residence and hotels over a period of time.

The matter came to light after the boy’s parents noticed changes in his behavior and accessed his phone, where they discovered objectionable conversations and explicit video content. Disturbed and alarmed, the family immediately filed a complaint with the Rewari police, which transferred the case to Gurugram once the teacher’s location and school affiliation were confirmed.

According to police officials, the accused woman, in her early 30s, taught at a reputed private school in Gurugram and allegedly befriended the boy during an inter-school event. What initially appeared as a mentorship quickly turned inappropriate, with the teacher luring the student under emotional manipulation. Over time, she allegedly took him to private lodgings and filmed several objectionable videos.

Forensic examination of her phone and laptop has led to the recovery of multiple videos and photos, some of which were stored on cloud platforms. Investigators fear that this might not be an isolated incident and are probing if other minors were also involved or targeted in a similar manner.

The teacher has been booked under stringent sections of the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) along with charges under the IT Act and IPC related to criminal intimidation and evidence tampering. She has been remanded to police custody for interrogation.

The case has triggered massive outrage among parents and educators in the region. Several school associations have demanded stricter background checks and monitoring mechanisms for teachers, especially those interacting with minors. Mental health professionals have also been called in to counsel the survivor, who is reportedly traumatized by the events.

Authorities are also investigating the school’s role and whether any staff members were aware of the misconduct or failed to report it. The district education department has launched a parallel inquiry into the institution’s internal safeguards.
