Gujarat: Heroin worth Rs 250 crore recovered from beach in Kutch

Ahmedabad: Heroin worth Rs 250 crore was recovered from the seashore in Jakhau Marine area of Kutch district in Gujarat, officials informed on Monday.
According to a press release issued by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) here on Monday, about 50 kg of heroin worth Rs 250 crore packed in 49 packets were seized from two suspicious bags lying in the Sayali creek area along the Jakhau seashore.
The Border Security Force (BSF) and the police team had recovered 49 packets on Sunday from the Jakhau beach, ATS said.
Meanwhile, on the night of 30 May, the team of ATS and Coast Guard caught the Pakistani boat Al Noman along with seven people in Indian waters off the Gujarat coast.
The Pakistani crew of the boat, during their interrogation, said that they had thrown two bags of narcotics kept in the boat in the sea after seeing a big boat coming towards them. (UNI)
