Govt to take decision on compensation within soon: Thackeray

Ratnagiri (Maharashtra), May 21 (UNI) The state government would take a decision on relief package for compensation to cyclone hit areas in Kokan areas in the next two days, after completing spot assessment of losses due to Tauktae cyclone on Kokan coastline, assured the state chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday.

Mr Thackeray is in Konkan today to take stock of the situation, as Tauktae cyclone hit Konkan region at Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.

Talking to media personnel after a review meeting with top government officer this morning, the chief Minister said he would not deserted Kokan people.
Spot assessment of cyclone hit damage areas was in final stage and after it complete, the government would take decision on relief package to Kokan people within next two days.

The CM said that I have come to give relief to Kokan people not for giving a reply to the opposition parties, as BJP had said, the CM was not serious, how could he assess the situation in four hours.
I have not come here for photo session, seeing the situation on land, not using helicopter, he quipped.

On BJP leaders statement that how he could aware seriousness of cyclone damage, Mr Thackeray said that he visited cyclone hit area with descended on land and not using helicopter for aerial survey as Prime Minister Narendra Modi did in Gujarat, Mr Thackeray pinched to Mr Modi.
Later, Mr Thackeray left for Sindhudurg district.
