Indore : In response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the government has issued a fresh advisory to prevent the virus from spreading further. The advisory comes after health authorities confirmed two deaths linked to COVID-19 within the last few days. Although the numbers remain relatively low compared to previous waves, the sudden rise in infections has prompted precautionary measures at both national and state levels.

The Ministry of Health has urged citizens to remain vigilant, particularly those with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immunity. Hospitals and clinics have been instructed to ramp up testing, improve hygiene protocols, and ensure the availability of oxygen and essential medicines. The advisory also emphasizes the importance of wearing masks in crowded and enclosed spaces, maintaining hand hygiene, and avoiding unnecessary public gatherings.

According to official data, the new variant currently circulating is highly transmissible but reportedly causes milder symptoms in most cases. However, healthcare professionals have warned against complacency. Experts stress that early detection and treatment are key to minimizing fatalities and curbing the spread of infection.

State governments have been asked to enhance surveillance, especially at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals. In addition, schools and colleges have been advised to monitor students for flu-like symptoms and encourage vaccination among staff and students who haven’t yet received their booster doses.

The government has also urged people to avoid panic and misinformation. A dedicated COVID-19 helpline and portal have been activated to provide updated information and guidelines. The advisory highlights the need for coordinated action between state and central health departments to ensure readiness for any potential surge in hospitalizations.

While no lockdowns or major restrictions have been announced at this point, officials say they are prepared to take stronger measures if the situation worsens. Meanwhile, the public is encouraged to cooperate with health directives, get tested at the first sign of symptoms, and continue following basic preventive protocols that proved effective during earlier outbreaks.

Health experts continue to monitor the situation closely and are optimistic that with timely action and public awareness, the spread can be controlled. The next two weeks are considered crucial in determining the trajectory of the outbreak.
