Gen Narwane briefs PM on Army’s efforts to aid Civil administration

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Army Chief General MM Naravane on Thursday briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various initiatives taken by the Force to aid the civil administration across the country.
Medical staff of the Army is being made available to various state governments while it has been setting up temporary hospitals in various parts of the country and wherever possible, the civilians are being treated in Base Hospitals, the PM was told. The citizens can approach their nearest Army hospitals for medical help, he added.
The Chief of Army Staff also appraised him that the Army has been providing manpower for imported oxygen tankers and logistics support for the transportation of these tankers too in remote areas and bordering states.
This was third meeting of the Prime Minister with Defence Forces’ chiefs.
On April 26, the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat briefed Mr Modi on the efforts made by the all Defence Forces in the Covid management while Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshall RKS Bhadauria called on him on Wednesday and appraised about the various initiatives taken in transporting the empty cryogenic Oxygen containers from abroad and within the country under the aegis of the Union Home Ministry.
