Fraud in Kurukshetra: Youths Duped of ₹15 Lakhs

Kurukshetra : In a shocking incident in Kurukshetra, two youths from Ludhiana and Mohali were victims of a fraud, as they were promised a trip to Canada in exchange for a hefty sum of ₹15 lakh each. The accused, who had allegedly offered to arrange visas and travel documents, took advantage of the youths’ aspirations of settling in Canada. After receiving the payments, the fraudsters went silent and refused to provide the necessary documents, leaving the youths in a desperate situation.

The youths, after realizing they had been scammed, demanded their passports and the refund of the money they had paid. However, their efforts were met with threats and intimidation, as the accused reportedly warned them against approaching the authorities. The fraudsters allegedly threatened to harm the victims if they persisted in asking for their passports back.

The victims, devastated by the betrayal, immediately approached the police and lodged a complaint. Authorities have started an investigation into the matter, but no arrests have been made so far. The case has drawn attention to the increasing number of frauds related to overseas job and immigration scams, with many individuals falling prey to fraudulent agents promising quick overseas settlement.
