Former SBI Chairman Chaudhary sent to 14 day judicial custody
Jaipur, Nov 1 (UNI) Jaisalmer judicial magistrate rejected the bail application of former SBI Chairman Pratip Chaudhary and sent him to a 14 day judicial custody, he was arrested in a fraud case.
Former SBI chairman Pratip Chaudhary, who was arrested by a court order on charges of fraudulently selling a private hotel to a company at cheap prices, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.
Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that the accused was arrested yesterday from Delhi and was produced here today before the Chief Judicial Magistrate where he was sent to a 14 days judicial custody.
He said that the court had issued arrest warrants against eight accused in this case, in which former SBI chairman Pratip Chaudhary was arrested from New Delhi.
According to the charge sheet, Dilip Singh Rathod, owner of Jaisalmer’s oldest hotel Fort Rajwada, planned to build another hotel on Khuhri Road in the name of Garh Rajwada in the year 2008 and took a term loan of 24 crores from SBI Bank Jodhpur in the year 2008, and started construction work of the hotel. In the year 2010 he asked for another loan of six crores but SBI did not give the loan. SBI bank went beyong RBI rules and turned NPA and sold the hotel at cheap price.
