Foreign Minister to attend swearing-in ceremony of Iranian president

New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Iran’s President-elect Ebrahim Raisi on August 5 in Tehran.
‘At the invitation of the Government of Iran, External Affairs Minister will visit Iran on August 5-6, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect H.E. Ayatollah Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi on August 5, 2021,’ Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
During the visit, Jaishankar will call on the President, and on the sidelines, will also meet other leaders, it said.
This will be Jaishankar’s second visit to Tehran within a month.
The External Affairs Minister had made a stopover in Tehran on his way to Russia last month. Jaishankar had called on the President-elect and delivered a personal message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to him.
