Floral tributes paid to Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary
Punjab unit ignores the anniversary of former Prime Minister
Puducherry, Nov 19 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary here on Friday.
Puducherry Agriculture Minister C Djeacoumar, Assembly Deputy Speaker P Rajavelu, government whip Arumugham and legislators are among others who garlanded the Indira Gandhi statue.
The day is being celebrated as the ‘National Integration Day’ and Mr Djeacoumar read out the National Integration pledge to the audience at the pedestal of her statue.
The Congress leaders and cadres also garlanded the statue of Indira on the occasion.
Though in Punjab, different Congress factions in paying their tributes, as former state president Sunil Jakhar tweeted a last year’s ad banner as Navjot Sidhu ignored the occasion, of former premier Indira Gandhi’s birthday.
