FIR against SFJ Grp. for anti-national messages, ahead of Amarnath Yatra
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday filed an FIR under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against ‘Sikhs For Justice Group’ and others for ‘anti-national messages,’ ahead of the Amarnath Yatra.
The case has been registered at Police Station Kothibagh in Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that they found some persons/groups, including the Sikhs for Justice, indulging in activities promoting enmity between different religious groups and also disseminating anti-national messages, ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. “These groups/persons are disseminating secessionist messages/ideology, thereby questioning and disrupting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India, besides such activities are likely to cause disturbance of peace and public order in the UT,” the spokesman said.
He added that an FIR has been registered under Section 13 of UAPA, along with Sections 153-A, 153-B, 505 IPC and investigation set into motion. (UNI)
