Fadnavis exhorts Opp. to follow Dr Ambedkar’s path, shun narrow-mindedness
Pune, Dec 6 (UNI) BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis here on Monday asserted that India can make great strides if everyone follows the path of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
However, the progressive path can only be followed if some people leave behind their parochial thinking, Mr Fadnavis told while taking a dig at his political rivals.
He was speaking at the Symbiosis Institute Museum on the occasion of Dr Ambedkar’s 65th death anniversary.
Hitting out at the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, he told, “It is unfortunate that there is not even an inch space on Chaityabhoomi for the monument of the great man who gave constitution to the country.”
He continued, “I met Narendra Modi with Ramdas Athawale. In three days, land worth Rs 2,300 crore was transferred to the Government of Maharashtra without taking a single rupee. The statute work of Dr Ambedkar is underway at Mumbai’s Indu Mill.”
Recounting the projects undertaken for Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar during his tenure as the CM, Mr Fadnavis said, “I had the opportunity to visit the place where Babasaheb Ambedkar studied at the London School of Economics.”
“The place went up for auction and the previous Maharashtra government bought it without prior discussion,” he underlined.
