Education system should impart values’, for sustained development
Dharamshala, April 30: Pro Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Professor Jyoti Prakash on the concluding day of a 12-day workshop asserted that for development, society needs to have an education system which imparts values. The workshop was organized at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh under the Capacity Building Program funded by the Department of Education, Indian Council of Social Science Research. Participants from eight states attended the workshop. The Chief Guest in the closing ceremony held on Saturday was Professor Jyoti Prakash, Pro Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University emphasized that research should be based on facts and truth and should aim for betterment and development of society and not for destruction. The day started with an interactive session by resource person Prof Amrit from Education department GNDU Amritsar. Then Prof Vishal Sood, the capacity building program coordinator and director presented a welcome address. The session was followed by feedback from the participants. The Valedictory session was chaired as a chief guest Prof Jyoti Prakash Pro Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University Shimla. Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Dean Student Welfare was the guest of honor in the program. He expresses his gratitude to director Prof Vishal Sood for organizing this capacity building program. He also shared the usage of social media and digital literacy and explained how it impacts teachers. The use of new technology for reunion and collaboration was promoted. Prof Jyoti Prakash related the word Research may be the offshoot from the word ” Rishi”. The certificate distribution was done by the dignitaries to the participants. The vote of thanks was given by the research scholar of the department The ICSSR capacity building program from 19th to 30th April 2022 was a success story having participants all over India. (UNI)
