ED to interrogate Satyendar Jain in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: A Delhi Special Court on Thursday allowed Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate Delhi Health Minister and AAP senior leader Satyendar Jain inside Tihar Jail in connection with Delhi Liquor Policy scam.
ED will question Jain, who was arrested in an alleged money laundering case in May this year, on September 16.
In this matter, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered a case against Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and others for alleged irregularities in framing and implementation of the Excise Policy of Delhi. The excise policy was subsequently withdrawn by Delhi’s Government.
CBI has alleged that by modifications in the Excise Policy irregularities were committed and undue favor were given to license holders including waiver or reduction in license fee.
CBI has lodged case against Sisodia, Excise Official, Dealers and others public servants and private persons in this matter and raided the official residence of Delhi Education Minister in connection with the alleged corruption.
The Enforcement Directorate is also investigating the case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). (UNI)
