Double engine govt has failed in HP: SS Sukhu

Hamirpur (HP): Senior Congress party leader and MLA from Nadaun, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhoo said Saturday that the BJP’s double engine government had proved to be a failure in Himachal Pradesh in matters of development.
While addressing a public meeting at Bhoranj Kaswa of the district on Saturday, he said the state had gone ten years behind in matters of development and the entire blame for this goes to inefficient administration of the Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur.
Sukhoo who is Himachal Pradesh Congress Election Campaign Committee chairman said now seeing the elections approaching, the BJP leaders were approaching the people with lofty slogans but their moves would backfire as people knew their working during the last five years.
He said the BJP had promised to formulate an employment policy for the unemployed in its last election manifesto, which the government could not fulfill. This is cheating with 14 lakh unemployed.
Sukhoo said the Government’s statement in the police paper leak case and the action taken had been openly exposed in the public.
The Chief Minister had announced to conduct a CBI inquiry, the notification of which has not been issued till date. Congress had demanded that the culprits be punished by completing the investigation within 90 days, but till now the investigation has not started, it is clear that the paper has been leaked under the protection of the government and the police.
Congress will go to the bottom of the matter as soon as it comes to power and send the culprits behind bars, he said.
Sukhu said the BJP government had harmed the cause of every section of the society especially the youth, women and poor. (UNI)
