Mohali District Records Over 10,000 MT Wheat Arrival Daily
The problem of Labour and Cartage resolved in Kurali and Lalru Mandi; Officials to accelerate Payments
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar: District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mandis have witnessed an arrival of 10,588 MT wheat by the previous day, out of which 10,403 MT of grain has been procured, said
Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain, today, here.
She said that the district administration is committed to ensure hassle-free procurement and so far there is no issue remaining related to procurement arrangements. The contracts of labour and cartage of Kurali and Lalru Mandis have also been matured, today, she further added.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the lifting is being done regularly. So far, 2519 MT of wheat has been lifted which contributes to 124 per cent as per mandatory condition of 72 hours. Similarly, payment of Rs 15.37 crore against the procured grain as per the condition of 48 hours has been made which contributes to 140.9 per cent.
The procurement agencies have been directed to accelerate lifting to avoid any glut in the Mandis. She said that all the district managers of Procurement Agencies have been asked to be in touch with their field staff and there should be no grievance to the farmers in the ongoing procurement season.
