Dharmendra Pradhan to celebrate International Yoga Day at Kangra Fort
Dharamshala: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who will arrive here on Sunday, will attend the International Yoga Day function on June 21 at the historic Kangra Fort, as chief guest.
The Central University of Himachal Pradesh has got the opportunity to organize the program at one of the four prestigious places given to the Ministry of Education by the Ministry of AYUSH, to organize the International Yoga Day.
Vice Chancellor Sat Prakash Bansal told UNI on Saturday that the Union Ministry of Education has entrusted the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, in the form of PPT, as the nodal agency for organizing and coordinating the events, as per the guidelines laid down by the Government of India.
He said one of the prestigious institutes selected for the event includes Kangra Fort, adding that the state branch of Art of Living was lending its support to the event.
The University has constituted a committee for the purpose, with Ambareesh Kumar Mahajan appointed as its nodal officer. The committee visited the Kangra Fort and took stock of the preparations.
The program will begin on June 21 at 5:30 am and conclude with the national anthem at 7:46 am. During this meeting, Registrar Vishal Sood, Student Dean Welfare Ambrish Mahajan, Dean Academic Pradeep Kumar and Deans, HoDs, all faculty members and non-teaching staff were present. The Vice Chancellor said that all arrangements have been completed to make this program a success. (UNI)
